Reader: Brethren, finally, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. З Посла́ння до Єфеся́н Свято́го Апо́стола Павла́ чита́ння (6:10-17)

Браття, нарешті, зміцнюйтесь Господом і могутністю сили Його. Одягніться в повну зброю Божу, щоб вам можна було стати проти хитрощів диявольських, бо наша боротьба не проти крові і плоті, а проти начальств, проти властей, проти світоправителів темряви віку цього, проти духів злоби піднебесних. Для цього прийміть повну зброю Божу, щоб ви змогли протистояти в день злий і, все подолавши, вистояти. Отож станьте, підперезавши чресла ваші істиною і одягнувшись у броню праведності, і взувши ноги в готовність благовіствувати мир; а понад усе візьміть щит віри, яким зможете погасити всі розпечені стріли лукавого; і шолом спасіння візьміть, і меч духовний, що є слово Боже.
