Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

Reader: Son Timothy, you therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier. And also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. The hardworking farmer must be first to partake of the crops. Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things. Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from the dead according to my gospel, for which I suffer trouble as an evildoer, even to the point of chains; but the word of God is not chained. Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

З Посла́ння до Римля́н Свято́го Апо́стола Павла́ чита́ння (5:1-10)

Браття, отже, виправдавшись вірою, ми маємо мир з Богом через Господа нашого Ісуса Христа, через Котрого вірою і одержали ми доступ до тієї благодаті, в якій стоїмо і хвалимось надією на славу Божу. І не цим тільки, але хвалимось і скорботами, знаючи, що від скорботи походить терпіння, від терпіння досвідченість, від досвідченості надія, а надія не посоромить, тому що любов Божа влилась у серця наші Духом Святим, даним нам. Бо Христос, коли ще ми були немічні, в певний час помер за нечестивих. Бо навряд чи хто помре за праведника; хіба що за добродійника, можливо, хтось і наважиться померти. Бог же Свою любов до нас доводить тим, що Христос помер за нас, коли ми були ще грішниками. Тому, тим більше нині, будучи виправданими Його Кров'ю, спасемося Ним від гніву. Бо коли, будучи ворогами, ми примирилися з Богом смертю Сина Його, то тим більше, примирившись, спасемося життям Його.

З Другого Посла́ння до Тимофія Свято́го Апо́стола Павла́ чита́ння (2:1-10)

Сину Тимофію, отож зміцнюйся у благодаті Христом Ісусом, і що чув від мене при багатьох свідках, те передай вірним людям, які були б спроможні й інших навчити. Отож терпи страждання, як добрий воїн Ісуса Христа. Ніякий воїн не зв'язує себе ділами житейськими, щоб догодити воєначальникові. А якщо хто і подвизається, не увінчається, якщо незаконно буде подвизатися. Трудящому землеробові першому належить вкусити від плодів. Розумій, що я кажу. Хай дасть тобі Господь розуміння в усьому. Пам'ятай Господа Ісуса Христа від сім'я Давидового, що воскрес з мертвих за благовістям моїм, за яке я страждаю навіть до кайданів, як злодій; але для слова Божого нема кайданів. Тому я все терплю заради вибраних, щоб і вони одержали спасіння в Христі Ісусі з вічною славою.

Євангеліє - Gospel Reading

Від Матфея 6:22-33;

Світильником для тіла є око. Отже, якщо око твоє буде чисте, то і все тіло твоє буде світле; коли ж око твоє буде лихе, то і все тіло твоє темне буде. Отже, якщо світло, що в тобі, темрява, то яка ж тоді темрява? Ніхто не може служити двом господарям: бо або одного буде ненавидіти, а другого любити; або до одного виявлятиме старанність, а про другого не дбатиме. Не можете служити Богові й мамоні. Тому кажу вам: не піклуйтеся для душі вашої, що вам їсти чи пити, ні для тіла вашого, у що одягнутися. Чи душа не більша за їжу, а тіло за одежу? Погляньте на птахів небесних: вони не сіють, не жнуть, не збирають в житниці; і Отець ваш Небесний годує їх. Чи ви ж не багато кращі за них? Та і хто з вас, піклуючись, може додати собі зросту хоч на один лікоть? І про одежу чого піклуєтесь? Подивіться на лілії польові, як вони ростуть: ні трудяться, ні прядуть; але кажу вам: що й Соломон у всій славі своїй не одягався так, як кожна з них; коли ж траву польову, що сьогодні є, а завтра буде вкинута в піч, Бог так одягає, то чи не багато краще вас, маловіри! Отож не піклуйтеся і не кажіть: що нам їсти? чи що пити? або у що одягтися? бо всього цього шукають язичники; бо Отець ваш Небесний знає, що ви маєте потребу в усьому цьому. Шукайте ж спершу Царства Божого і правди Його, і все це додасться вам.

Matthew 10:16-22;

Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues. You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles. But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak; for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you. Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. And you will be hated by all for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.
