Resurrectional Tropar, Tone 8

You descended from on High, Merciful One. You accepted the three day burial to free us from our passions. Lord, our Life and Resurrection. Glory to You.

Tropar of the Feast, Tone 1

When Thou, O Lord, were baptized in the Jordan, the worship of the Trinity was mad manifest. For the voice of the Father bore witness to You, and called You His beloved Son. And the Spirit in the form of a dove, confirmed the truthfulness of His word. O Christ our God, Who has revealed Yourself and has enlightened the world, Glory to You!

Tropar of our church, Tone 4

Prophet and Forerunner of the coming of Christ, we who honor you with love can find no manner of praising you worthily. For the barrenness of one who bore you and the silence of your father have been ended by your being born of divine grace and you have proclaimed to the world the Incarnation of the Son of God.

Resurrectional Kondak, Tone 8

By rising from the tomb, You raised up the dead. Adam is risen and Eve exults in Your Resurrection. The entire world celebrates Your rising from the dead, Greatly Merciful One.

Glory …
Kondak of our church, Tone 3

She who was previously barren now bears the Forerunner of Christ who is the fulfillment of every prophecy. For the prophets proclaimed beforehand that having laid hands on Him in the Jordan, he would be manifest as Prophet, Preacher and Forerunner of the Word of God.

Now and Ever …
Kondak of the Feast, Tone 4

Today, Lord, You have appeared to the universe and Your Light has shone on us who with understanding praise You: Unapproachable Light, You have come and revealed Yourself.

Epistles

Deacon: Wisdom!

Reader: The reading is from the Letter of St. Paul to the Ephesians.

Deacon: Let us be attentive.

Reader: Brethren, to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift. Therefore He says: "When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave gifts to men." Now this, "He ascended"—what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth? He who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.) And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

Deacon: Wisdom!

Reader: The reading is from the Letter of St. Paul to the Galatians.

Deacon: Let us be attentive.

Reader: Brethren, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

Priest: Peace be with you.

Reader: And with your spirit. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

Alleluia Verses

Verse: Lord, I will chant of Your mercies forever: with my mouth I will proclaim Your Truth from generation to generation.

Verse: You have said: Mercy will be established forever and my truth will be prepared in the heavens.

Verse: Bring to the Lord, children of God, bring to the Lord glory and honor.

Instead of "It is right in truth"

Magnify, my soul, the Most-Pure Virgin Birth-Giver of God who is greater in honor than the hosts on High.

Irmos, Tone 2: No tongue is capable of praising you worthily. The angelic mind is overawed in exulting you, Birth-Giver of God. But, accept our faith since you are good and know our divinely inspired love. You are the Protectress of Christians and we magnify you.

Communion Hymns

The grace of God that brings salvation to all has appeared. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Praise the Lord from the Heavens; praise Him in the Highest. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
