1 Тim. 4:9-15; Lk. 19:1-10;

Tropar Resurrectional, Tone 8

You descended from on High, Merciful One. You accepted the three day burial to free us from our passions. Lord, our Life and Resurrection. Glory to You.

Tropar of the Feast, Tone 1

At Your Baptism in the Jordan, Lord, the worship of the Trinity was made manifest. For the Voice of the Father bore You witness and called You His Beloved Son. The Spirit in the form of a dove confirmed the truth of His word. Christ our God Who have revealed Yourself and enlightened the world, glory to You.

Tropar of our church, Tone 4

Prophet and Forerunner of the coming of Christ,/ we who honor you with love can find no manner of praising you worthily./ For the barrenness of one who bore you / and the silence of your father have been ended by your being born of divine grace / and you have proclaimed to the world / the Incarnation of the Son of God.

Kondak Resurrectional, Tone 8

By rising from the tomb, You raised up the dead. Adam is risen and Eve exults in Your Resurrection. The entire world celebrates Your rising from the dead, Greatly Merciful One.

Kondak of our church, Tone 3

She who was previously barren / now bears the Forerunner of Christ / who is the fulfillment of every prophecy. / For the prophets proclaimed beforehand / that having laid hands on Him in the Jordan, / he would be manifest as Prophet, / Preacher / and Forerunner of the Word of God.

Glory …
Kondak to Martyr Tatiana, Tone 4

In your sufferings you shone brightly/ in the royal purple of your blood, / and like a beautiful dove you flew to heaven,/ passion-bearer Tatiana. / Therefore, always pray for those who honor you.

Now and ever ...
Kondak of the Feast, Tone 4

Today, Lord, You have appeared to the universe and Your Light has shone on us who with understanding praise You: You have come, Unapproachable Light, You have come and revealed Yourself to us.

Deacon: Wisdom!

Reader: The Second Prokimen in Tone 4: Blessed is He Who comes in the Name of the Lord. God is the Lord and has revealed Himself to us.

Choir: Blessed is He Who comes in the Name of the Lord. God is the Lord and has revealed Himself to us.

Epistles

Deacon: Wisdom!

Reader: The reading is from the Letter of St. Paul to the Ephesians.

Deacon: Let us be attentive.

Reader: Brethren, to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift. Therefore He says: "When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men." Now this, "He ascended"—what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth? He who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.) And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

Deacon: Wisdom!

Reader: The reading is from the First Letter of St. Paul to Timothy.

Deacon: Let us be attentive.

Reader: Son Timothy, this is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance. For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe. These things command and teach. Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership. Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all.

Priest: Peace be with you.

Reader: And with your spirit. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

Verse: Lord, I will chant of Your mercies forever: with my mouth I will proclaim Your Truth from generation to generation.

Verse: You have said: Mercy will be established forever and my truth will be prepared in the heavens.

Verse: Bring to the Lord, children of God, bring to the Lord glory and honor.

Instead of "It is right in truth"

Magnify, my soul, the Most-Pure Virgin Birth-Giver of God who is greater in honor than the hosts on High.

Irmos, Tone 2: No tongue is capable of praising you worthily. The angelic mind is overawed in exulting you, Birth-Giver of God. But, accept our faith since you are good and know our divinely inspired love. You are the Protectress of Christians and we magnify you.

Communion Hymns

The grace of God that brings salvation to all has appeared. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise Him in the highest. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

Gospel Reading

Luke 19:1-10

Then Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich. And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature. So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way. And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, " Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house." So he made haste and came down, and received Him joyfully. But when they saw it, they all complained, saying, "He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner." Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold." And Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham; for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost."
