Браття, коли ж дізналися, що людина оправдується не ділами закону, а тільки вірою в Ісуса Христа, і ми увірували в Христа Ісуса, щоб виправдатися вірою в Христа, а не ділами закону; бо ділами закону не виправдається ніяка плоть. Якщо ж, шукаючи виправдання у Христі, ми і самі виявилися грішниками, то невже Христос є служитель гріха? Аж ніяк! Бо якщо я знову будую те, що зруйнував, то сам себе роблю злочинцем. Законом я вмер для закону, щоб жити для Бога. Я співрозп'явся Христові, і вже не я живу, а живе в мені Христос. А що нині живу в плоті, то вірою живу в Сина Божого, Котрий полюбив мене і віддав Себе за мене.

Браття, ми ж, як співробітники, благаємо вас, щоб благодать Божу ви прийняли не марно. Бо сказано: у сприятливий час Я почув тебе і в день спасіння допоміг тобі. Ось тепер час сприятливий, ось тепер день спасіння. Ми нікому ні в чому не чинимо перешкоди, щоб не було обмовлене служіння, але у всьому показуємо себе як служителі Божі, у великому терпінні, в бідах і нестатках, у тісних обставинах, під ударами, в темницях, у вигнаннях, в трудах, у бдіннях, в постах, у чистоті, в розсудливості, у великодушності, в благості, в Дусі Святому, в нелицемірній любові, в слові істини, у силі Божій зі зброєю правди в правій і в лівій руці, в честі і безчесті, при доганах і похвалах: нас називають обманщиками, але ми вірні; ми невідомі, але нас впізнають; нас вважають померлими, але ось ми живі; нас карають, але ми не вмираємо; нас засмучують, а ми завжди радіємо; ми бідні, але багатьох збагачуємо; ми нічого не маємо, але всім володіємо.

З Другого Посла́ння до Тимофія Свято́го Апо́стола Павла́ чита́ння (2:1-10)

Сину Тимофію, отож зміцнюйся у благодаті Христом Ісусом, і що чув від мене при багатьох свідках, те передай вірним людям, які були б спроможні й інших навчити. Отож терпи страждання, як добрий воїн Ісуса Христа. Ніякий воїн не зв'язує себе ділами житейськими, щоб догодити воєначальникові. А якщо хто і подвизається, не увінчається, якщо незаконно буде подвизатися. Трудящому землеробові першому належить вкусити від плодів. Розумій, що я кажу. Хай дасть тобі Господь розуміння в усьому. Пам'ятай Господа Ісуса Христа від сім'я Давидового, що воскрес з мертвих за благовістям моїм, за яке я страждаю навіть до кайданів, як злодій; але для слова Божого нема кайданів. Тому я все терплю заради вибраних, щоб і вони одержали спасіння в Христі Ісусі з вічною славою.

І, покликавши народ з учнями Своїми, сказав їм: хто хоче йти за Мною, хай зречеться себе, і візьме хрест свій, і йде за Мною. Бо хто хоче душу свою зберегти, той загубить її; а хто загубить душу свою заради Мене і Євангелія, той збереже її. Бо яка користь людині, коли вона придбає весь світ, а душу свою занапастить? Або який викуп дасть людина за душу свою? Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues. You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles. But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak; for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you. Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. And you will be hated by all for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.
