Reader: Brethren, for such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens; who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the people's, for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. For the law appoints as high priests men who have weakness, but the word of the oath, which came after the law, appoints the Son who has been perfected forever. Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a Minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected, and not man.

Браття, утверджуючий нас з вами у Христі і Котрий помазав нас є Бог, Він і поклав печать на нас і дав запоруку Духа в серця наші. Бога закликаю в свідки на душу мою, що, жаліючи вас, я досі не приходив до Корінфа, не тому, ніби ми беремо владу над вірою вашою; але ми сприяємо радості вашій: бо вірою ви тверді. Отож я вирішив сам у собі не приходити до вас знову у смутку. Бо коли я засмучую вас, то хто втішить мене, як не той, хто засмучений мною? Те саме я і писав до вас, щоб, прийшовши, не мати смутку від тих, за яких мені належало радіти, бо у всіх вас впевнений, що моя радість є радість і для всіх вас. Від великої скорботи і туги серця я писав вам з великими сльозами не для того, щоб засмутити вас, але щоб ви пізнали любов, яку я без міри маю до вас.

Євр. 7:26 - 8:2

Браття, такий і повинен бути у нас Первосвященник: святий, непричетний злу, непорочний, відділений від грішників і піднесений вище небес. Котрий не має потреби щоденно, як ті первосвященники, приносити жертви спочатку за свої гріхи, потім за гріхи народу, бо Він зробив це один раз, принісши в жертву Себе Самого. Бо закон поставляє первосвященниками людей, котрі мають немочі, а слово клятвенне, після закону, поставило Сина, навіки досконалого. Головне ж у тому, про що говоримо, є таке: ми маємо такого Первосвященника, Котрий сів праворуч престолу величі на небесах і є священнослужитель святилища та скінії правдивої, яку збудував Господь, а не людина.

Від Матвія 22:1-14

Ісус, продовжуючи говорити їм притчами, сказав: Царство Небесне подібне до чоловіка – царя, який справляв весілля синові своєму і послав рабів своїх покликати званних на весілля; і не хотіли прийти.  Знову послав інших рабів, кажучи: скажіть званним: ось, я приготував мій обід, телят моїх і що відгодоване, заколоте і все готове; приходьте на весілля. Але вони, знехтувавши те, пішли, хто на своє поле, а хто до торгівлі своєї. Інші ж, схопивши рабів його, скривдили і вбили їх. Почувши про це, цар розгнівався, і, пославши військо своє, винищив тих убивців і спалив місто їхнє. Тоді говорить він рабам своїм: весілля готове, а званні не були достойні; отже, ідіть на роздоріжжя і всіх, кого знайдете, кличте на весілля. І раби ті, вийшовши на дороги, зібрали всіх, кого тільки знайшли, і злих і добрих; і весілля наповнилося возлежалими. Цар, увійшовши подивитись на возлежалих, побачив там чоловіка, вдягненого не у весільний одяг, і каже йому: друже! як ти ввійшов сюди, не маючи весільного одягу? Він же мовчав. Тоді цар сказав слугам: зв'язавши йому руки і ноги, візьміть його і вкиньте у тьму безпросвітну; там буде плач і скрегіт зубів; бо багато званних, та мало вибраних.

The Lord said: "I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. "But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them.
