Phil. 2:5–11; Lk. 10:38–42, 11:27–28

Tropar Resurrectional, Tone 2

When You descended to death, Life Immortal, You slew Hades with the splendor of Your Divinity. And when from the depths You raised the dead, all the Powers of Heaven cried out: Giver of life, Christ our God, glory to You.

Tropar to Theotokos, Tone 4

Today the most glorious city rejoices resplendently, / perceiving your wonderworking Icon as the radiance of the sun, O Sovereign Lady./ Now, having come to it, we pray to you and cry: "O most wondrous Lady Theotokos, / pray to Christ our God, Who was incarnate of you, / that He may deliver this city and all Christian cities and countries, preserving them unharmed from every intrigue of the enemy, / and that He may save our souls, for He is merciful."

Tropar of our church, Tone 4

Prophet and Forerunner of the coming of Christ,/ we who honor you with love can find no manner of praising you worthily./ For the barrenness of one who bore you / and the silence of your father have been ended by your being born of divine grace / and you have proclaimed to the world / the Incarnation of the Son of God.

Tropar to Martyrs, Tone 3

You regarded the Faith as an imperishable treasure, O most blessed one, / abandoning the ungodliness of your fathers, and walking in the footsteps of the Master, / you were enriched with divine gifts, O glorious Adrian. / Pray to Christ God for the salvation of our souls.

Kondak Resurrectional, Tone 2

Hades became fearful, Almighty Savior, seeing the miracle of Your Resurrection from the tomb. The dead arose and all creation, with Adam, beheld this and rejoiced with You and the world, my Savior, praises You forever.

Kondak of our church, Tone 3

She who was previously barren / now bears the Forerunner of Christ / who is the fulfillment of every prophecy. / For the prophets proclaimed beforehand / that having laid hands on Him in the Jordan, / he would be manifest as Prophet, / Preacher / and Forerunner of the Word of God.

Glory …
Kondak to Martyrs, Tone 4

O Martyr of Christ, Adrian, / you kept in your heart the divine words of your godly-minded wife Natalia, / and endured torments; together with your spouse, you have received a crown.

Now and ever ...
Kondak to Theotokos, Tone 8

O victorious Leader of triumphant hosts, / to you we sing a song of victory,/ for you have delivered us from troubles by the arrival of your revered Icon, O Sovereign Lady Theotokos, / and joyously we celebrate the festival of your meeting,/ and, as is customary, we cry to you: "Hail, Unwedded Bride."

Epistles

Deacon: Wisdom!

Reader: The reading is from the First Letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians.

Deacon: Let us be attentive.

Reader: Brethren, if I am not an apostle to others, yet doubtless I am to you. For you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord. My defense to those who examine me is this: Do we have no right to eat and drink? Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? Or is it only Barnabas and I who have no right to refrain from working? Who ever goes to war at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its fruit? Or who tends a flock and does not drink of the milk of the flock? Do I say these things as a mere man? Or does not the law say the same also? For it is written in the law of Moses, "You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain." Is it oxen God is concerned about? Or does He say it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written, that he who plows should plow in hope, and he who threshes in hope should be partaker of his hope. If we have sown spiritual things for you, is it a great thing if we reap your material things? If others are partakers of this right over you, are we not even more?

Deacon: Wisdom!

Reader: The reading is from the Letter of St. Paul to the Philippians.

Deacon: Let us be attentive.

Reader: Brethren, let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Priest: Peace be with you.

Reader: And with your spirit. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

Verse: May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble. May the Name of the God of Jacob protect you.

Verse: Lord, save the king and hear us on the day we call out to You.

Verse: Arise, O Lord, into Your rest; You and the Ark of Your Holiness.

Communion Verse

Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise Him in the Highest. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

I will take the cup of salvation and call upon the Name of the Lord. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.
